Races

It’s about the journey, not the finish line.

Team RWB athletes gather all over the country to participate in races with the goal of enriching the life of a wounded veteran and his/her family. Team RWB athletes are considered long-term team members with vision beyond any single race. This unique approach to athletic participation and fundraising allows you to share stories, form personal relationships and see first hand how your efforts are making a real difference in the lives of wounded veterans and their families. Below you'll find a list of upcoming Team RWB races to get involved in. The options are endless, too. You can choose to run in a 5K, 10K, half-marathon, full marathon, ultra-marathon, biathlon, triathlon and/or ironman, or organize/list your own event.

Organizing A Team Red White and Blue Race.

Want to host your own Team RWB race event?

There are Team Red White and Blue events all across the country virtually every week. But if you feel like you'd really love to host your own event, let us help guide the way. Texan, Chris Widell, Team RWB athlete and South Central US Events Coordinator, has done a masterful job at laying out the entire process – from Pre-Race Planning including finding a route, and promoting for runners and sponsors to recruiting volunteers and enlisting a timing service. He also plots out all of the race day activities from setting up the course to registration, start and finish and awarding the winners! Click here for the complete plan.

This summer four US veterans will bicycle across the nation—from Washington State to Washington, D.C. During this four month, four thousand mile journey, the Long Road Home Project longroadhomeproject.com aims to share the healing power the road provides as these national heroes overcome the personal challenges that led them to undertake this life-changing endeavor. Along the way, the four riders and 3 crew members will visit military bases, Veterans Affair Medical Centers and veterans organizations, asking other veterans the urgent question: “What can we do as a national to serve our troops as they come home?” There will be plenty of opportunities to join the riders and crew at these events and also to participate in ride-alongs with them as they trek across the country. Stay tuned to your local Team RWB chapter, and to the Team RWB Facebook page to see how you can support this effort!
