The Team

Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB) is made up of athletes, advocates and concerned citizens

– a diverse group of people who are all committed to serving those who have served our great nation.  Whether running in a race, sponsoring a golf outing, volunteering at an event or fundraising, members are part of a special team of people – a community of caring and talented individuals.

Athletes

Team RWB is about the journey, not the finish line. Team RWB athletes are long-term team members with vision beyond a single race. These days, there are many choices of charitable partners and races to join. But how often do athletes raise funds for an event and, apart from the race itself, have the opportunity to interact with anyone from the fundraising organization or, more importantly, speak or interact with those they’ve worked so diligently to help? Team RWB athletes are expected to meet with and develop a relationship with wounded veterans and families in our program. This unique approach to athletic participation and fundraising allows athletes to share stories, form personal relationships and see first hand how their efforts are making a real difference in the lives of wounded veterans and their families. Participants can choose to run in a 5K, 10K, half-marathon, full marathon, ultra-marathon, biathlon, triathlon, and ironman.

Advocates

Whether a fellow veteran or interested community member, an advocate provides the essential ingredient of friendship to make a special impact in the life of a wounded veteran and his/her family. With the benefit of local support services, combined with access to a national online community and financial resources, advocates support veterans’ reintegration by developing the type of one-on-one relationship that defies traditional reintegration efforts – friendship.

Concerned Citizens

Concerned citizens are companies, fellow non-profit organizations and individuals that play a vital role in Team RWB by sponsoring/partnering on, organizing and/or supporting fundraising events (including races); interacting with other Team RWB members at events or online; and/or spreading the word about Team RWB. By volunteering time and/or resources and sharing stories, these concerned citizens help Team RWB change the perception of our war service veterans and enrich their lives.
